Commercial methodology
How the cost and margin estimate is calculated
The estimator provides an initial commercial comparison between externally supplied bottled water and an on-site AYR Water system. It uses the operating information entered by the visitor and is designed to support early-stage evaluation before a property-specific Site Assessment and proposal.
Calculation method
- Current bottled-water cost is calculated from bottles used per day, operating days, purchase cost per bottle and the selected analysis period.
- Estimated AYR operating cost combines the entered monthly service fee, indicative sparkling-water CO₂ consumption and any entered reusable-bottle investment.
- Direct savings compare the two operating-cost totals over 12, 24 or 36 months.
- Restaurant margin outputs compare revenue and gross contribution using the selling prices entered. These outputs are hidden when water is marked as complimentary.
- Hotel room demand is derived from occupied rooms and bottles placed per room, unless the visitor enters a property-wide daily total.
Key assumptions and limitations
- Usage, purchasing cost, selling price, operating days, water mix and service fee are visitor-entered assumptions and should be replaced with current property data.
- Sparkling-water cost uses the planning assumption shown in the calculator: one 5 kg CO₂ cylinder at Rp 500,000 producing approximately 600 L.
- Figures exclude VAT unless VAT-inclusive values are entered.
- Direct savings do not include labour, storage, transport, waste handling, carbon impacts or other operational effects that are not entered.
- Actual performance and system requirements depend on incoming water, production and service windows, outlet locations, peak demand, chilling and carbonation requirements, installation conditions and operating procedures.
